What A Difference You Can Make!
No one is comfortable putting a price on life, but it’s a reality that the Florida Blood Services professionals face daily. Technological advances have improved both medicine’s capabilities and the ability to safeguard the community’s blood supply through research and testing. At the same time, the economics of managed care prevent healthcare providers from paying the full cost of blood collection, quality assurance, distribution and research.

Despite strong efficiency measures instituted, there remains a sizeable gap between the income received for each pint of blood and the expenses associated with it. It’s a daily challenge to continue and expand state-of-the-art research necessary for the expertise that has made FBS a recognized leader in its field.

That’s where the FBS Foundation comes in, raising the funds necessary to preserve the organization’s standing and, more importantly, the quality of care, while promoting biotechnology research to help assure a safer, adequate blood supply for the future.
